El pasado 23 de Noviembre participé en la “Map Camp: Use Case Edition“, dando una charla junto a Rubén Berenguel (@berenguel).
En “Python Barcelona: Mapping a developer organisation“, utilizamos los Wardley Maps para explicar el funcionamiento, los retos y la estrategia que tenemos en Python Barcelona:
Python Barcelona is one of the largest and oldest meetup organisations in the city (founded in 2008 and with more than 3800 meetup members), and since 2018 it is a registered organisation with more than 40 associates.
Being a legal entity comes with benefits (easier to get funding and invoicing, members can also contribute yearly) and problems (you are expected to run the organisation like clockwork).
Running volunteer organisations like ours presents many challenges that mapping can help locate and address. In our case, it helped find potential unaddressed needs in our users, where we may not be providing enough value and to prepare a plan for surveying them more effectively.

Tuvimos la suerte de contar con la asistencia del propio Simon Wardley, y con su participación durante el turno de preguntas (para saber las implicaciones de la pizza del metaverso, hay que ver el vídeo entero 😜)
En general no tengo material para charlas, ya que acostumbro a mapear temas estratégicos de empresa (que son privados). El caso de uso de Python Barcelona ha sido una excepción.
